In 1997, in a small gallery in Arroyo Seco,  a group of talented women artists from

Northern New Mexico, who believed in the strength of women as a co-operative

creative group began what would become Las Comadres Gallery.  They pooled their

resources and their talents,

The gallery has continued to operate  since that time, spending two years in

Arroyo Seco and eleven plus years at 228A Paseo del Pueblo Norte, Taos, across from

the Fechin House Museum.

We re-located to the John Dunn Shops in 2012 and remain at

120 Bent Street Suite G

The gallery opens daily at 10:00 am. Each artist works a schedule of rotating

days .  Members share management responsibilities and a monthly meeting

is held to discuss the business policies of the gallery.

Las Comadres is always interested in reviewing new talent and

welcomes the opportunity to view  the works of women who are interested

in becoming part of the gallery. If there are no current openings,

applications are taken and put on file.  When an opening becomes available,

applications are reviewed or a call is put out for specific new talents.

Contact the gallery at 575-737-1023

questions you may have.
